Hyperthyroidism – the clinical syndrome resulting from excessive circulating levels of thyroid hormones – is believed to be the most common endocrinopathy in cats, with diabetes mellitus coming a close second. In spite of this, it is still a condition that can be extremely challenging both to diagnose and treat.
