Parasite challenges and control in puppies and kittens
Parasite control in cats and dogs is important to improve animal health and reduce zoonotic risk. The likelihood of parasitic disease and zoonotic transmission is influenced by immunological changes in individual animals and stocking density. This makes puppies and kittens a particular challenge for parasite control. Combinations of parasites may be present in groups or individual puppies and kittens and in large numbers. This article considers parasite control in puppies and kittens, their diagnosis and treatment.
