Surgical ear diseases of the dog – an overview*
Ear disease, particularly otitis externa, is commonly encountered in the dog. Otitis externa that is poorly responsive to medical management will result in secondary changes to the ear canal and often requires surgical intervention. Other less commonly encountered conditions of the canine ear, including trauma, neoplasia and diseases of the middle ear, may also necessitate surgical management.
